Hi all,
We have a Horizon 7.10.3 ESB environment.
Composer, Connection, Agent are 7.10.3 and Client is 5.5.0.
We use Link Clones with VSphere 6.5
Used VDI is a Windows 10 19.04 operating system with a Citrix Workspace App 19.12 LTSR installed.
When we start a Citrix session from within the VDI the Citrix XenApp session is sluggish, even unworkable.
After downgrading the Horizon Agent to version 7.5.2, the connected Citrix XenApp session within the VDI is excellent and fast.
The Agent is installed with following parameters:
/S /V"/qn REBOOT=Reallysuppress ADDLOCAL=Core,USB,SVIAgent,RTAV,ClientDriveRedirection,DeviceBridgeBAS,SmartCard,VmwVaudio,TSMMR,RDP
(Setting up the Citrix XenApp session outside of the VDI it is always excellent).
Does anybody know or has any experience what the cause is of this sluggish session in combination with the 7.10.3 Agent or how I can investigate this issue?
With kind regards.
Koempel
My concern is the xenapp and horizon agent are conflicting, both are using extension of Microsoft RDSH to the app streaming, and the newer agent probably conflicts more. I don't think its explicitly not supported so I'd open tickets with both citrix and vmware if this is required. I'm not sure how many people would run both, I haven't seen any yet.
Hi,
Did you find the root cause or some ways to work around this issue? We're also seeing similar sluggishness.
Lars
Hi,
We removed VMWare Horizon and migrated to Citrix XenDesktop.
So, the issue is obsolete, no more Horizon Client.

Koempel,
We did actually find a workaround. Disabling 3D Acceleration solved the problem.
