Sky Broadband Users stuck on authenticating

Hi everyone,

We have recently upgraded our infrastructure for VDI moving from Windows 7 O/S - Horizon 7 to Windows 10 O/S - Horizon 7.10.

Ever since the upgrade our homes users on Sky broadband have been unable to log onto VDI via the client (5.2 and 5.3) and get stuck on Authenticating.

They are able to access via HTML and some older versions of the client 4.10 do work but we'd like everyone to use the latest version.

We have tried adding pcoip and blast protocols to users firewalls in case they were somehow blocking outbound connections but no luck.

Going to sky is a waste of time as we just get stuck with their home user support.

Does anybody have suggestions on what might be the issue?

Thanks

Hi,

we've had a similar issue with VPN. People using a specific provider (Vodafone Cable) received Dual Stack IP addresses so it was both IPv4 and IPv6. This apparently conjured up an issue where the people were unable to connect and got stuck on authentication until running in to the timeout.

We talked to Vodafone and got them to change the corresponding connections back to IPv4 and it started working. This sounds like a similar issue. Not sure but maybe during authentication the Horizon gateway gets "mixed signals" from the client. Maybe you can check with Sky if they are using Dual Stack Lite.

Best regards,

Raetke
