Hello
Can anyone tell me if the following scenario on horizon is supported,
Current HZ Env:
vCenter (6.5) with Horizon 7.3 & instant clones - no composer
Proposition:
New and second HZ environment with its own connection brokers, UAGs etc,
using same vCenter from current HZ env. & instant clones.
I see in the HZ 7.7 release notes that for CPA
"You can use a single vCenter Server instance with multiple pods in a Cloud Pod Architecture environment"
Release Notes for VMware Horizon 7 version 7.7
Does this new feature apply to my environment, cloud pod is not in place, nor is it planned.
Obvious response is to recommend a second vCenter but for this scenario circumstances will not allow.
Thanks
These types of things should be confirmed by support, but as far as I'm aware of you cannot have the same vcenter used by two instances of horizon, the cloud pod part would work because there are different hosts involved. The problem with horizon managing the same set of hosts is there can and will be conflicts. What benefit are you going to get with having two seperate horizon installs?
Yeah, I've asked support and the concensus was it was too much of a corner case and would not be supported, but hey let me know if you hear differently. Came across that in a situation where we couldn't split a cluster due to resource demand.
