Setting up View lab and need some clarification

I bought a 1U server and a small netgear hub and a workstation. I  installed ESXi on the server and gave it the same private IP range of 10.0.*.* that my comcast modem uses for my dhcp range.  When building the ESXi host what IP address should I give it for DNS?   My question is this, should I run a cat 5 cable from my ESXi host to one of the ports in my cable modem? What do other folks do?

Hi,

If your cable modem device works as a switch, you can use it.

Right now you can put any DNS, like the modem device. Then, for the VMware View enviroment you will need an AD, and you will be able to perform the DNS role with this server.
