Server 2008 R2 as a linked clone desktop (or other)

Hi all,

I was wondering and have had a bit of a play with view 5.  We have an alternate licensing arrangement (SPLA) and would like to user R2 as a desktop - linked clone would be preferable.  The doco states that the agent can be installed on R2 but the view manager states that it is an unsupported OS.  Would someone be able to answer this query please?

I have been through the vast majority of options and the only one that I can find is the terminal services one - but you might as well run this as a normal VM/TS setup in that case, rather than view.  Comments much appriciated.

Server operating systems can not be used as desktops unless it has the terminal services role.   Once the terminal server role has been added you can setup a TS pool but you wouldn't be able to use linked clones there.
