I am looking to implement Horizon/View 7. I am torn between using a Security Server vs vIDM. I see the benefits of the vIDM, and leaning towards that solution. Is there any reason why I should still take the Security Server into consideration?
They have very different functions. Security Server (and now Access Point) is used with Horizon View for the purpose of DMZ based remote access. See Technical Introduction to Access Point for Secure Remote Access - VMware End-User Computing Blog - V... for details.
