Security Server SSL Cert HELP

We are running View 5.1 and have purchased a cert from GoDaddy for view.victorschools.org. We installed the primary and intermediate certs on the security server and are seeing two things that together we cannot explain:

  • When we connect to our View environment from outside the district using the View client, the connection works fine. The client shows https in green indicating a secure connection with an SSL cert that is trusted
  • There are several sites that can check certs, here is one:
    http://www.digicert.com/help/
When I enter view.victorschools.org into this site it says the SSL cert is not trusted. I have purchased other certs from GoDaddy including powerschool.victorschools.org. If I check this cert, it checks out fine

Any ideas on how to fix this cert issue, I would like to have it check fine via the SSL cert checker sites.

So now go to:

http://www.digicert.com/help/

and type in view.victorschools.org and it shows the cert is not trusted. This cert was purchased from GoDaddy. I also purchased a cert called powerschool.victorschools.org from GoDaddy. If you go to the cert checker site and type in powerschool.victorschools.org it shows as trusted.

Why doesn't the view.victorschools.org cert show as trusted when using a cert checker site?

Hi Henderson,

Today morning when I try to access  http://www.digicert.com/help/, it was not acccessible to me. However I did now,  yes, it  says untrusted.  Then I would like to  know from View Dashboard , status of view connection server and security server.

If it is shown as GREEN, then from VMware View perspective , it is trusted.

I would say it  would be good idea to check with certificate vendor, since I try to access  url  https://view.victorschools.org/  from three different Web browser , it shows trusted.

The view connection server is red, the security server is green. The security server is the one with the view.victorschools.org cert installed on it. I will be contacting my cert provider and possibly opening a ticket with VMWare to see if I can get to the bottom of this

HI,

Does that mean you have not installed CA signed certificate for connection server ? Also when it says green for  security server, then it mean, it is trusted.
