Same base link clone and multiple pools

I use the same base VM for 2 linked clones pools. Would it be best to clone that base VM and create a snapshot off each for 2 different pools. Or can I use 2 snapshot from same base VM to create the 2 different pools.

I have used two different snapshots off of the same golden image to create a production and training linked clone pool. I have never had any issues doing this.
