Safe to remove original connection server from the group?

We have a group of four connection servers running View 6.2.1.  We have to move to Windows Server 2012 R2 and the original connection server is 2008 R2.  It is not paired to any security server or transfer server.  Is it safe to follow the following procedure to remove the first ever connection server in the environment?

  1. On the subject server, click Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs
  2. On the subject server, remove VMware View Connection Server and ADAM Instance VMwareVDMDS.
  3. On a server that IS NOT BEING REMOVED, run "C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware View\Server\tools\bin\vdmadmin.exe" -S -r -s server_name_of_subject_server

One of my colleagues thinks it might be a special procedure to remove the first connection server, but I don't see it.

1. You can install View Replica Server on Windows Server 2012R2  pointing to Win2008R2 View Server

2. Verify the ADAM replica is successful and access the 2012 R2 installed View Admin UI to confirm the status and pools/desktop available

3. Then follow the 3 steps which you have mentioned to remove the 2008 R2 View Server
