Question :

I use a Retina MacBook Pro (late 2013) with a 4K external display. My MBP does recognize the 4K display and use it correctly scaled down like it would be 1920x1080 but it is actually using the 3840x2160 pixels. VMware Horizon Client 5.3.0. does not recognize the same. It uses the display like 1920x1080. Whenever I change the MacOs resolution to 3840x2160 non-scaled - resulting in unreadable small Mac desktop - then Horizon uses the full resolution, resulting in a brilliantly sharp image. This is independent from the OS, same result on latest updated Catalina (10.15) as it was on Mojave (10.14). Same results using HDMI or DP display connections. Same result with Horizon 5.2. I have read that Retina resolution is supported on external screens, so how shall I enable to be used correctly?

I have provided screen shots and also I have created and can share the horizon client logs.
