Restrict remote access to view desktops

We are using View 4.5 with ESXi 4.1 and now have several desktop pools.  I would like to be able to restrict access for some users assigned to these pools, these folks should only be able to access their vm from our LAN.  However other users must be able to access their vm remotely, from outside our LAN.  Does VMware provide this access security feature?

Location based entitlement is what you are looking for ? If yes you can make use to tag configuration with broker and configure tag based entitlement.

Can you restrict this at the lower level of a certain desktops or based on user rather than pool level?

You can't do it based on user unless you installed the RSA software and handed out tokens to certain users.  You could also create multiple pools and use tags to only have one available outside of the network.

Hi,

You can do this with two pools and tag based (restricted) entitlements.

Pool A can be for users needing local and remote access, Pool B can be for users just for local access. With Connection Servers tagged as "Local" and "Remote", just set Pool B with a tag of "Local" and then it will not be accessible from remote locations.

You can then dset which users/groups have access to each pool.
