Restarting the Connection Server

A bit of a basic question but I was told by a VMware guy that restarting our connection server would not affect any existing connections but only new ones. As a test I tried it and all existing connections were lost! Have I missed a setting or have I been given wrong information? We're using View 4.5.

Thanks in advance

This is the normal behaviour for the View connection server. This KB article states as much...

http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=102602...

No two ways around that as far as i know...

It depends...

If you are using tunneled connections then yes, no way around it.

If you are using direct connections (no tunneling) a graceful shutdown will actually take the connections down, however a non-graceful shutdown (kill the service, power failure etc) will leave the connections active.
