Hello,
I am starting to plan a View 4 deployment for 30 users.
I am wondering about recommendations to follow regarding to which hardware to use.
I don´t have a clear idea regarding to how many Virtual Desktops can I support with 1 cpu core, etc.
The VMs should only run Windows XP and Office 2007.
Any comments will be much appreciated
Regards
Federico
Its not just the Server hardware, the storage will play a big part in how well this performs, as an example i got 160 XP desktops on 2 BL680 blades
(4 x 6 core CPU`s per blade) and the SAN was a USPV so very high end .
So what are you thinking in terms of Resliance etc.
2 things to be aware of is that this density is ok as long as you dont have patching and virus scanning all happening at the same time.
It is supposed to be started for 12 users that are divided between 3 remote sites.
The max growth will be 30 users.
Also I would like to know about wan links?
And regarding to client hardware are you using any kind of thin client or just reusing pcs/notebooks ?
Thanks for your prompt answer
Federico
I used, a mixture of HP thinclients and desktops, and as for the WAN you treat the connection like RDP, i consistantly use View over a VPN and it works great.
Do you know what you are going to use for Storage SAN or internal HD
Not yet, but I think I will be a must to have a SAN because of the IOPS of the VMs.
I believe I will be not a good idea to try local disks for this.
I also want to share with you the following article I found surfing the web, seems to be so interesting.

Have a look at it
Thats a good article and is very realistic
