I have started working deploying View internally and I read through the VMware View Installation Guide (View 4.5) documentation and have found that View Composer is only supported on Enterprise versions of Windows 2008 or R2 64 bit systems.
This seems very odd because vCenter does not require Enterprise and the Composer piece installs on that box. I have installed Composer on my current vCenter (with Windows 2008 x64 Standard) and it installed without errors, so now I'm really confused.
Does anyone know if the requirement of Enterprise is an problem with their documentation or if this is accurate?

It's the same with the View Connection Server, is it right that he only runs on windows Server 2008 R2 and not on Windows Server 2008 SP2?
An Enterprise licence costs much more than a Standard, and we've buyed Standard licence for the "old" View 4.0.1... And now we can buy new licences - when the upgrade guide has right.
View Composer will work fine on Standard. This was a documentation bug that we are in the process of rectifying. Sorry for any confusion.
I am not 100% sure about the View Connection Server being supported on Windows Server 2008 SP2 (non-R2) so I am going to check around but I believe that this one may be correct in our documentation.
I will get back to you.
