Problem with HTML Access using url

Dear all,

we previously used HTML Access urls to start up different VMWare Workstations, we used an url-call up of the following type:

https://www.ourserver.com/?desktopid=<desktopname>

After clicking on the url and providing username + password we were automatically signed in to the appropriate VM.

All worked fine until we previously updated our Horizon environment to the lastest version 2111.1 Build 8.4.1.

In addition we now use UAG with version 21.11.1.0-19072784.

Now it look like the desktopid-parameter is not recognized correctly anymore, We now get an error telling us that we are not allowed to use this desktop. But we are correctly loged in to the html-based overview page showing our workplaces and are able to log in to without any error selecting the appropriate VM manually.

It also possible to provide a username using the url-parameter - so the url interface seems still to work. We tried different of our workplaces and played around with different spellings of the desktopname - always the same error.

We also checked settings on side of the horizon server and the UAG settings but found no clue explaining that behaviour. Also googling for hints on this error and looking up the BLAST and HTML Access documentation yielded no results. Using different Browsers (Chrome & Edge) did not help. Log-files also did not provide any hint - at least not the ones we looked in.

We do not know if this is an issue with access right as the same user can access the workplace using the web-interface - the error only shows up when using url call-up with desktopid parameter. We think that UAG might be responsible - but up to now found no hint to verify this idea either.

Does someone have any idea where to look for a solution or run into the same issue?

Alexander

Dear Fabio,

the plug-in is installed and HTML access is working correctly as described above.

Our colleagues use Chrome or MS Edge to acccess the VMs and this works fine so far even after the upgrade to the latest version.

Only the DesktopId parameter is not working, when using URL-links on our website.

Regards

Alexander

Ciao

You are using the View Agent Direct-Connection Plug-In for connect to directly to the VM?
