Problem in installing VMware view composer

I installed vCenter 5 on my 2008 R2. I tried to install VMware View Composer 2.7 on my vCenter Server and every time I faced with the error 28014 : Unable to close the firewall. I should say that I use VMware Workstation 8 for running my VMs.

I checked the regedit console but couldn't find any related registry keys. I also checked the local certificate MMC but there was nothing related to vmware view composer.

You need to run the installer as an local administrator, could that be the issue here?

Can you grab the installer logs for us please?

1. Clear all the *.log files from your %temp% directory.

2. Run the installer until it fails.

3. Grab vminst.log, vmmsi.log, and svicfg.log from the %temp% directory and attach them to this thread.

I beleive this is a simple "Known issue".  In what user priviledge are you running this installation ?

Even though if you have logged in as administrator, I would recommend to try the installation by right-click on teh installer and "Run As administrator"

Please let me know the result

Hi, I always installed vmware view composer with the account of domain admins group. This time as you said I used right clich on the view composer exe file and used Run as administrator. The problem solved and view composer installed on my vcenter server.

Thank you
