Printing from virtual desktop to terminal server

Good day folks! I just wanted to ask if somebody knows how to figure out the following issue:

We have deployed VMware View infrastructure - 100 Virtual desktops (Windows XP3). The printing redirection from VM to local workstation works perfectly, but when user connects to terminal server from virtual machine (Terminal server fall back driver policy is on) and try to print out, nothing happens. We are able to see that the necessary printer is redirected to terminal server. Is there any way to figure out this issue?

Have you already tried the option to connect to the terminal server session from the view client, not from the desktop?

Christoph

how are you expecting printing to work, the TS sessions printing is being redirected to the VDI session not the client. you need to have direct printer mapping form the TS session to the required printers, this will be difficult to do as proximity printing will not work.

Thanks for your response. Actually when i change print processor settings from "thinprint" to "Winprint" and connect from virtual desktop to terminal server then i can print from terminal server session to my printer, but in that case i cannot print from virtual desktop to my printer, becase i should change my print processor settings back to "thinprint".

Connecting to terminal server using vmware view client is not acceptable for us, because we are using novell application software to deliver application icons and rdp icons to end users.

So i'm looking for a solution which allows user to print from terminal session launched from virtual desktop

Are you using the same print process across the board?? ie thinprint in both.

Sorry, already pressed award buttons.

I found the solution. So if you need to print from terminal server session launched from virtual desktop you should change print driver of default printer mapped to virtual desktop to HP Deskjet 500

Thanks to everybody.
