When playing a DVD in a VM View 4.0.1 desktop through a T5740 HP thin client with embedded Windows XP, the resultant audio is staggered and no video. Windows Media Player 11 with the K-Lite Mega codec pack was installed inside the View desktop and the DVD is playing through a USB-connected DVD ROM connecting directly to the thin client.
The exclusion test of playing the same DVD locally (outside View) on the thin client with the same codec pack produced good video and audio without any problem. This excludes the possibility of Windows AD settings as prescribed in KB1010845, doesn't it?
Will proceed with verbose logging and (being a novice) which View components: View Connection Server, View Agent, View Client and View Composer Server in KB1017939 should be chosen?
The same network connection settings were used in both with-View and without-View test; however any check should be done to ensure minimal network latency?
Any idea if this codec in use is supported? Hence, is there any View-specific HCL ?
