Pool creation fails with File [datastore name] virtual machine/sdd was not found

Hi. I'm running vSphere 5.1 and View 5.2. When I create a linked clone pool the replica is created and during the task that states 'reconfigure virtual machine' it fails with the error message in the subject line. I've tried everything and don't know what is causing this issue. I've attached log files from View Composer (which is running on a separate machine) as well as other screen captures.

I've created many pools before on different installations and never run into this before. Any help appreciated.

I had a very similar problem on Horizon 6 (6.1) after upgrading vCenter and ESX servers to 6.1 U1.

This issue occurs when older versions of Horizon View Composer prior to VMware Horizon 6.2 require SSL v3 to communicate with VMware ESXi hosts and SSL v3 is disabled starting with VMware ESXi 6.0 Update 1 hosts.
