For a customer I am upgrading from View 6.2.3 to 7.5 by doing a new installation in paralell. I have everything set up, but the persona settings are not loading. I've put in a new persona server and copied the old GPO to point to the share with the data. Persona data has been copied with robocopy to the new server. I can access the share, create folder and see only my previous folder.
I can verify that the GPO settigs are loaded in the registry, but they are not read/used.
When I compare the VMWVvp.txt logfiles from the old and new version I can see lots of similar data, but one major difference pops out.
In both versions I can see:
[RTOLogon!RTODumpSettings] ProfSvcPid: <123>
[RTOLogon!RTODumpSettings] VPSvcPid: <321>
(the pid's are not the same, but that is normal)
In the v7 log I can see the following repeat:
[RTOLogon!RTORegistryCallback] Failed Calling Service: Pid: 123, Tid: 231, NTSTATUS: 0x0, HR: 0x80070003
I'm unsure if this is the root cause, but the similarities end where this error message occurs.
v6 log goes on to list logon events, profile path, etc.
v7 log has one entry about logon:
[HandlerEx] Received Logon Notification: Session: 1
Guest OS on the desktop is Windows 7 SP1, so it is on the supported list.
