Persona Managment in View 6 breaks profiles?

Jump to solution

Hello colleagues.

Problem: periodically (unknown reason) persona management creates a new file type

NTUSER.DAT {016888bd-6c6f-11de-8d1d-001e0bcde3ec} .TM.blf

and NTUSER.DAT {016888bd-6c6f-11de-8d1d-001e0bcde3ec} .TMContainer00000000000000000001.regtrans-ms

Thus the user in the process of beginning to have an error like: "explorer exe. Denied access to the device, path or file"

Any thoughts?

VMware Horizon Client 3.4.0 build-2769709

VMware View 6.1.1 build-2769403

VMware vSphere 6.0.0 2776511

Hi malefik,

Is your persona share located on the Windows 2012 Server?

If it so, disable data deduplication and "undupe" profile data.

Здравствуйте, Алексей. Всё именно так, как вы и написали - Win 2012 и была включена дедупликация на общем ресурсе, выделенном под профайлы. Отключил - буду следить за результатом. Но что такое "undupe" profile data ?

Hi malefik‌,

"Undupe" means that you switch data deduplication off and return your files back to the state they were before the deduplication process.

Please, read the article it should help.

I had the same negative experience with Windows 2012 and Persona. And if I were you I'd thought about migration of your's Profile Server to the Windows 2008 Server. It works much stable.
