Persistent Pool

If I have a persistet pool with a template desktop, that require 60GB on storage.

When a user login a new istance is generated from the template, but when this is saved on storage what is saved, 60GB or only the changed data from the template?

Thanks very much for the support!!!

Unless you are using some kind of snap or clone technology available with your backend storage the entire 60GB will be saved to the LUN.

The 2 answers above are correct but I thought it worth mentioning that at some point in the (hopefully) not too distant future VMware will be bringing out their Linked Clones technology where you will be able to have a "gold image" and then each VM will only have a delta image of what is changed from the gold image. Hurry up VWware, this'll save us all loads of space on our SANs!
