Outlook cache

On a linked clone machine (view 5.3) I need to use Outlook cache. I think to use Outlook 2013 to configurare the cache size, on a persistent disk. The cache file may be about 10 gb.

Some advice ?

I always try to avoid persistent disk and ost files whether possible

but have you tried network share the ost file? example setting for 2010 (same setting is there for 2013 using admx)

another example using app volumes

why do you need cache mode?

If your email is hosted and you are in online mode, outlook performance is not so good.

jb3vi‌  -  you might also consider speaking to your storage guy and seeing if the san provides  a CIFS share option.

you could then create a hidden drive mapping and use the office GPO to point to your new mapping such as Z:\Ost-data

as far as the cache goes. by default it is set to cache 1 month (i think) we have decided to cache 3 months of emails.  if a user then requires an email further back ... there is a line of text that allows them to "search more on server"

Archiving is also an option.
