Outlook 2016 Mapi 1.0 00004C2 error

Hi I have an issue with Office 365 Outlook 2016 displaying a strange error which stops us from using outlook.

The error is "The time limit for logging on was reached while waiting for system resources. Try again Mapi 1.0 [000004C2]

Microsoft have acknowledged this as a potential fault with an add-in we do not use. https://support.microsoft.com/en-hk/help/3181206/outlook-2016-error-the-time-limit-for-logging-on-wa...

We cant launch the app settings and need to restore using "UEM Self Service" this is stopping us from rolling out windows 10 to our departments.

Environment

Office 2016 O365 16.0.4849

Windows 10 1803

App Vols 2.14

UEM 9.6

Instant clone desktops with local uem profiles (not using mandatory)

We have appstacks and writeables in place. We are using Office 365 exchange.

When we restore the settings and logoff and back on the OST file continues to be used. I do not think this is a corruption error on the OST part.

We are using the UEM Office 2016 settings obtained through the VMware uem community site. Just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to rule out the gold image, uem, or appvols.

IT does not happen every time but usually after about 5 or 6 logins.

This happened again and i managed to capture what was happpening with ProcessXP.

Turns out UCMapi.exe was calling outlook and locking the OST file.

Killing the lync.exe processes stops this lock however im not sure what the root cause of the issue is.

More work required....

Thanks for that. This at least allowed me to start Outlook properly.

Updated to the 1908 office build fixed this, finally Skype plays well with outlook and both outlook errors are gone, strangely receiving a PNG file still hangs/freezes skype.
