Hi
Simple question, but one I can't readily find the answer to.
I am upgrading a set of connection servers from 3.1 to 4.6. However I don't have the time to jump on and update all the agents and tools straight away.
Installing the clients etc and loosing Portal is fine. However woud the clients still be able to connect to the VDI desktops, considering the desktops are running agents from a 3.1 install. Before I go off and spend hours testing this, has anyone ever done this ?
I suspect I will just get warning messages on the management server.
Cheers
Stu
I haven't done it with a gap that large but I have used old agents with a new broker/client. I don't anticipate that you will have any issues with basic functionality such as connecting to the desktop.
Are they linked clones or full desktops? You obviously wouldn't be able to take advantage of any of the new features that were dependent on the agent.
These are full desktops. All manual and dedicated.
We are going that way but I have to get it up to a decent standard first. 3.1 is a tad old!
It's a slow road getting all the new goodness in here.

Thanks for that. I shall let you know how I get on!
