Nuance PowerMicII

We are using the Nuance PowerMicII with Dragon Naturally Speaking 10.1 Medical.  While the Mic is connected and registered with the remote VM, everything works great!  The next day the user will come into his office, use the terminal for a few minutes (not using Dragon, but Mic is plugged in to USB and connected to VM), then will go to a patient room, login, visit with patient, log back in at office terminal.  This happens several times through out the morning.  Never actually using Dragon...  Eventually though, his PowerMic gets into a stuck state and won't register on the VM.  I got into Control Panel on the local terminal and the device is disabled...  I remove the device from device manager, and the very thing happens the next day...  Everytime this poor physician goes to use his PowerMic, the darn thing has been disabled in Device Manager on the local client...

Any ideas on how to prevent this?
