It's another option/combination. Every solution (or combination therof) has strenghts and weaknesses.

The good thing is that as this market matures and more players want to get into the game features / quality will increase and cost will diminuish.

I guess it's the same as the technical solution Provision already provides for VMware. The interesting things:

\- offered as a bundle with Virtual Iron taking the lead on support - i.e. single throat to choke

\- price of $120 per vm for bundle - i.e. quite a bit cheaper than the VMware / Provision combo

Elie,

for the sake of the discussion it must be noticed that while today Provision integrates with VMware VC (i.e they can provision vm's etc etc) with VirtualIron they integrates through Active Directory (that is: they treat VI vm's as "non managed" images).

This is "as of today" of course.

This is much the same with Leostream, you need a strong naming standard to ensure correct pool mangement which can be a pain

I was told by Virtual Iron that the full integration (provisioning, power management etc.) is coming June 1. So you are right Massimo, this is "as of today."
