My View desktop keeps disappearing after login

I've got a VMware View desktop that I use for working from home.  When I navigate to the server in the url, and then enter my username and password, it takes me to the VMware View portal.  It shows my desktop is available and I click on it to log in, it displays the login screen, it logs in and displays the desktop for about 2 seconds and then disappears and kicks me back out to the View portal.  I can keep tyring to log in and go through the same thing about 20 times and it finally catches and logs me into my desktop.  What is going on???  Can someone help??

Greg, do you know what version of VMware View you are using?   It would also be helpful to know which protocol you are connecting with and the operating system of the VDI desktop.

Are you able to generate and review logs for the environment?

I would gather up the logs from the machine running the client software, agent software, and brokers to see if I could find anything that stands out.    With 4.0 and the web portal you should be connecting via RDP.   How is the quality of your internet connection?

Did this setup ever work correctly? I have had a similar issue with my VMs on a LAN. In my case I have found that this can be caused by a few things:

1) When the View agent was installed in the base image, when was it installed. I have heard it recommended that the agent be installed in a specific order, usually before any .net install/upgrades. Someone please chime in on this to verify, but reinstalling the agent may be a good to try.

2) Check your Virus scan software. Recently I had a problem with McAfee interfering with the View agent and as a result I was not able to access my View desktops.

Check out these things and your event logs. Hope this helps. Good luck!

You know, I never considered the quality of my Internet connection.  I do have high speed Internet at home, and I've tried this at another persons house as well, and I get the same results.  I've got some good direction now, I'll follow up on all the possibilities mentioned here.  Thanks for your quick reply.  You are always quick to help me.  Thanks a ton.

Good thoughts, I'll have to try re-installing the client and then check my anti-virus software.  I though it might possibly be a firewall issue, but then it works occasionally and a firewall wouldn't just let it through from time to time, if it's blocking it, it's blocking it every time.

Reinstalling the client may help, but I suggest that you also reinstall the View agent that is in your VM or base image if you are using linked clones. That can also be a problem.
