Multi tier storage and VMware view

Hi,

we have multi tier storage(IBM V7000). I have two different pools for our VDI one is three tier and the other one is one tier with all SSD flash.

I need to know what is the best proactive for designing the storage for link clone desktops. Do we need to move the gold  image to  all SSD pool?  does it make any different if we keep the gold image and replicated VMs all in same LUN??

please let me know if you have any document for designing multi tier storage for VDI

essentially simplest is to put the Replica /s on SSD and the linked clone OS disks on the SAS, Gold image sits anywhere as it is off apart from when you need to update it it's the Replica that takes the hit during Boot time.

There's a decent document published for 5.2 that covers storage considerations and outlines this, you can find it on the main website.
