Mouse issues with Grid K2 with vDGA

Hello, I am trying to configure vDGA.  I have attached the pci device for the K2 card and I can see it in the virtual machine.  When I install the nvidia drivers, the mouse becomes displaced and everything is skewed to the right.  I have uninstalled the nvidia driver and this resolves the issue.  I also also uninstalled vmware tools while the nvidia driver is installed and that also seems to solve the issue.  I think the issue has something to do with the vmware video driver being installed with the nvidia driver.  Has anyone seen this before?

First you should use the latest View version (6.0.1) that was released the other day.

That fixes some mouse issues.

I installed the 6.0.1 agent on the machine and this did not resolve the issue.  I have also tried disabling the vmware svga 3D driver and rebooting.  When the machines comes up, the mouse is no longer skewed but moves slower than expected.  Any ideas?

What is your client OS?

Do you have relative mouse enabled or not? (an option on the menu)

Got the latest 3.1 client?

I will give the relative mouse a try.  I am not using the client yet, this is just my experience through the console of the virtual machine.  Should the VMware vSGA 3D adapter need to be disabled?

Also my client OS is windows 7.  To be clear I have only been experiencing the mouse issue through the vsphere console.  I have not reached this machine through the View Client yet, would I receive a different mouse experience trying it this way?

Aha, that would explain it. When you are using vDGA then you will loose the vSphere console.

Make sure that you follow the guides, there are a few special commands that you have to run to enable it.

Could you please point out these commands to me, I need to make additional changes to my virtual machines but the console sits at the Starting windows screen.

That sounds about right, it will stop updating after the Nvidia driver have taken over and feeds the output to the DevTap instead of the console.

The command is in the guide, monterayenable.exe -enable.

That is the command to enable the capture which is what stops me from being able to use the vmware console.  Do I need to remove the graphics card everytime I need to administer the virtual machine through the console?

When using vDGA you will loose the ability to use the console, if you need to administrate the vm I would suggest using Remote Desktop, VNC or another remoting tool.

That is simply how the technology works, you can not have output to 2 destinations when using vDGA.
