Missing Datastores during configuration of an "automated desktop pool"

Hi,

found a tricky thing during isntallation of linked clones, the first 2 shots of Pools worked perfect, but then trying to deploy a 3rd pool with linked clones.

The Problem is I can't select any datastore for the deployment location (enough space is present). Even the local VMFS Datastore is not presentated by the wizzard ? Any Ideas.

Regards

If you only have 1 ESX host with local storage only please remove the host from the cluster/resource pool in vCenter. Any hosts inside of a cluster or resource pool will need to be able to see shared storage.

Hi, Thank you Smiley Happy

Thats correct if one ESX Server in the DC is not connected to the Shared Storage, this server is preventing the others to see the storage during the configuration process.

This probably does not apply to you, but if you have a template with snapshots you will only be able to deploy to the same storage as the template is stored on. All other storage are missing.

To resolve this, convert to VM, remove snapshots and convert back to template.
