Microsoft natural ergonomic 7000 keyboard

Hello to all,

I'm trying to get a Microsoft natural ergonomic 7000 keyboard working with our vmware view setup.

Our setup is:

Vmware view 5.1

Windows7 64 bit sp1 vdi

When I plug in the keyboard wireless dongle and install the intellitype 8.2 software the standard things and some special buttons work but the custom configurable buttons are 1-5 are not configurable.

I can also see that the usb dongle is not specifically detected in the device manager while it is when in install the keyboard on my physical laptop.

I hope one of you have had this experience and solved it somehow.

Thanks

With regards,

Arjan

What kind of client is it?

Did you update to the latest View client? (Currently 5.3)

They both got the same issues. I think it is in the virtual machine somehow.

Keyboards are not redirected as devices, instead the standard key events are sent. You can choose to redirect the keyboard with USB redirection to have full use of the non-standard buttons but note it will then not be usable on the client device at the same time, i.e. if you ran the client in windowed mode and switched back to a local application you would not be able to type there while it was in use on the desktop.

For configuring software clients : http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1011600

For configuring the zero clients : you need to access the device management interface on https://<ip-address/
