Hello,

Microsoft was kind enough to make this kind of hard (translates expensive) for us. They invented something called VDA license for accessing Windows client OS. There are some scenarios when you don't need VDA, but many where you need it (and where it really turns the whole VDI approach to cost too much). But one would need way more input on your current licensing to give you the right answers. Dig a little deeper yourself with searching for VDI and VDA licensing and you will find everything you need.

As for the Windows 2016 server VMs I think you'd need CALs (additional to the server licenses of course).

Btw: 3 hosts for 34 VMs? You have left a lot of headroom. 😉
