Max concurrent operation in relation to # of datastores

Vcenter 5.1 / Separate Composer 5.2 / View 5.2 - all with VMWare recommended hardware configurations. 30TB XtremIO SSD with compression and de-duplication. Carving out new datastores and taking in consideration the View design of 1 pool replica per datastore.  Are 8 datastores necessary to take advantage of the default max concurrent composer operations within View (8)? Anything less or more would be a disadvantage in regards to linked clones?

With those specs you could easily do more than 8 max concurrent. I have a way slower lab and I do 15 with no issues. It's not as much IOPS that you probably need to consider as much as your vcenter utilization.
