MacOS Ventura Screen Flickering on Full Screen Horizon Session

It seems that Apple introduced new Metal API messages in MacOS Ventura. The result is that I've seen a few software vendors struggle with their apps causing screen flickering in full screen mode. Is this a known issue for VMWare Horizon? The workarounds for me are:

  1. to disable the "automatically hide and show menu bar" in full screen mode, but that results in some resolution issues.
  2. take the app out of full screen mode, which isn't ideal when wanting to use multiple monitors.
  3. use Citrix to get to my remote sessions instead of VMWare.

Per one of the developers over at JetBrains, they replaced the per window synch with a per monitor synch to resolve the problem. Hopefully VMWare notices this and can leverage the same strategy. The flickering is terrible!
