We recently did a file share migration. As I was watching robocopy do it's magic, I noticed something strange. Under %username%/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/Quick Launch/User Pinned/Taskbar, it seemed like robocopy was copying a lot more files than it should have. All of them were 'Google Chrome (nnn).lnk,' 'Internet Explorer (nnn).lnk' or 'Windows Media Player (nnn).lnk' When I dug a little further, it appears that many, many of our users have thousands of files in this taskbar folder. They are all copies of shortcuts to Chrome, Internet Explorer or Windows Media Player.
The only explanation that I can come up with is that when one of our users logs into their floating pool desktop, the VM is copying them from the Default profile. However, when I checked the default user profile, there's no /Taskbar folder. I also checked the default user registry, and there was nothing in there regarding these icons, either.
Has anyone dealt with this before?
Thanks,
