I currently have setup the LBP for our view environment and have been testing with multiple different scenarios. I can get the printers to map just fine using the * wildcard. I can also get them to map just fine if I define a username. I am trying to define them using our AD Groups. I have setup the groups and added my username into the group but I cant get the printers to map using the group name.
I have tried all sorts of syntax with no success. This is what I have tried:
allprinters (this is the ad group name)
domain\allprinters
"domain\allprinters"
I know that all these settings are being handed off correctly because if i look at the registry key, after it has been updated, all the information is correct.
Any help on syntax or anywhere would be greatly appreciated.
I finally got it to work using a security group. I ended up making two changes:
I used \\domain\securitygroup (not \\domain.local\secgroup, don't think this part was the part that got it to work)
I then also moved the security group out of its OU and into the default "users" container.
Those two changes and then I was able to let thin print add in the drivers.
