Load Balancing Connection servers and health checks

I have four connection servers behind an F5 load balancer.  We are using the standard https(443) health monitor on the F5 to monitor the connection servers.  This works OK if the connection server is down, or the services are stopped, then the F5 will stop sending connections to the server.  But if I disable the connection server in the admin console, the F5 thinks the connection server is still active because the server is up and the services are still running.  This causes issues because the F5 is still trying to send connections to the disabled connection server, which the connection server then denies.

Does anyone know what is occurring on the connection server when the Disable button is clicked?  This does not stop any services as far as I can tell.

Or does anyone have a suggestion on using a different health monitor on the F5 that looks for something other than https?

@anothervsphereu ,

Check this page for supported ways to do health checks with load balancers: Configuring Load Balancers for Horizon Connection Server Health Monitoring (vmware.com)

This will also detect if a connection server is disabled.
