Keep an instant clone after user logoff - possible?

Sometimes we encounter faulty machines in an instant-clone desktop pool and I'd like to be able to "keep" such a vm in that state, after the user logsoff, so I can connect and login locally via vm console...(browser the event logs, check the applied policies etc)

I thought the "Maintenance Mode" would do this but when the user logsoff the vm gets reset, making further troubleshooting im possible..

Is there a way to achieve this?

since 2209 Horizon kan keep a forensic hold on machines, it might take some work but it should work in this case. https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Horizon/2309/virtual-desktops/GUID-9B386F81-AA24-43EA-919C-A0C391A... I assume you don't want to have the instant clones persist all the time

Previously known as Magneet or Magneet_NL, does things with Horizon api's, see www.retouw.nl
