Installing VMware View client on Ubuntu 11.10

The VMware View client is available on Ubuntu Software Center on Ubuntu 11.10.

However, you still need to update the source from which you obtain your packages.

Click on "System Settings" then launch the "Software Sources" application.

Select the "Other Software" tab, then select the "Canonical Partners" checkbox (see screenshot). Click on "Close" and follow the instructions to apply your changes.

Finally, launch Ubuntu Software Center. In the search box, type in "vmware". You will see "VMware View Client Tech Preview". Click on that, then click on "Install".

Once you have installed the View client, remember to click on "Add to Launcher" at the bottom of the Ubuntu Software Center application window to add the View client icon to the Ubuntu launch bar.
