Installing Horizon 7.5 with VCSA 6.5

Hey all,

In our old environment we had vcenter 5.5 installed on a virtual server. Now we moved on to VCSA 6.5

I have Horizon 7.5 running on a VM and running through the steps of adding our new vcenter server. What should I pick for View Composer Settings?

- Do not use View Composer

- View Composer co-installed with vcenter server

- Standalone View Composer

Any option I try it says it can't connect to view composer.

You need to setup a seperate windows server just for view composer. Then once you do select the standalone view composer server option, and provide the fqdn of the new server

Thanks. I assume sql server express is required for this also?

Is it necessary to use a separate vm for composer or would it work just as well being installed on the same VM as the connection server?

It must be a separate VM. The installer will detect the presence of the connection server and fail.
