Install View Agent on Physical Computer

I found the following information in the Horizon View documentation: https://pubs.vmware.com/horizon-view-60/topic/com.vmware.horizon-view.desktops.doc/GUID-B829612C-329...

Basically, you can install the View Agent on a physical computer. After it is installed you can add the physical computer to a manual pool (that has been configured to accept non-VMWare vCenter objects). At that point you can connect to your computer under the following conditions:

-If you have a Teradici card in the PC you can use the PCOIP protocol

-If you don't have a Teradici card you can RDP to your computer

From what I can tell, the workflow would look something like this:

-The remote user would open the View Client and login

-Their entitled computers would appear (in this case their physical desktop)

-They would double click on the computer icon

-They would be connected to their physical computer via RDP

Do any of you use this option? Any good or bad experiences?

Thanks in advance...

This will ensure a unified computing experience for both physical and virtual desktops.

One drawback would be power management options cannot be applied (like for virtual desktops, we can keep the VM in powered off state if not in use) will will not be available in physical machine.

Secondly, you should have your own third-party solution to manage the desktop, where as in virtual desktop (linked cloning) you can use refresh the change the desktop state to the default.
