IconCache under Appdata\Roaming\VMware\Unity\<Machine Name>\IconCache

Hello

I'm using VMware Horizon View with dynamic Desktop-Pools and Persona Management.

In our VPRepository folder are an folder named Appdata\Roaming\VMware\Unity\. For every virtual Machine, which was used by the User, a new folder will genaratet with an subfolder called iconCache. In this subfolder will be more then 280 png files.

So, in the repository of some users we have 10 or more folders. In each folder will be 280 files. So there will be 2800 files per User and since today we have 20 user weho use VMware View.

Does anyone know, wherefor VMware use these files? Can I remove older files or is it possible to configure View, that those files will not be created?

They will be part of the unity touch support : Introducing Unity Touch for iOS and Android | VMware End-User Computing Blog - VMware Blogs

If you are not using this feature you should be able to disable it entirely.

Same Problem here

Whe have some users they have thousands of these cache files in there roaming profile. Now the windows login takes a long time.

How exactly can I disable the creating of these files? Or whats the way to disable unity touch, if these is the root of the problem?

(The png files in the Unity folder are only generated, when users use the PCoIP Protocol. If they use RDP Protocol, the files will not be created.)

The solution is to not install the "Unity Touch" component when you run the View 5.3 Remote Experience Agent installer, if you don't need it.

It is best just to exclude the Unity folder from the roaming profile?
