Hello,

I had installed Horizon View 7 to test Instant Clone.

It works in our test environment , but i didnt have enough resources so i installed new hosts and a new vcenter (all the same version)

I changed vcenter in the view administrator en I want to build a new pool, now i get this error:

Error during provisioning: Initial publish failed: Fault type is INVAlID_CONFIGURATION_FATAL - Specified Host: host-16 has no accessible datastores in the input

I use SSD (VMFS5).

vcenter: 6.0.0 3339084 (appliance)

exsi: 6.0.0 3380124 (bl 460c gen8)

and go through your pool settings again and click accept>finish.

The location of the golden image and the vdi destination are the same (all on locale storage).

and in the ~Pool settings under the "vcenter Settings" tab the linked clone datastore and replica datastore is populated correctly ?

Local datastores are not supported for Instant Clones in H7.

It's not true. H7 Instant Clones supports local datastores, and even recomend to use SSD (but works and on Local spinning dosks.

As you are deploying to a Local Datastore, how many Datastores are you selecting on the pool creation process and how many hosts do you have?

The issue could be related that you have more than one host and you are only selecting the local datastore of one ESXi.

This causes due to local datastore  - I have removed other host from cluster and new pool created with single host - instant clone works fine as expected.

what was the fix for this?  Do have to copy the golden image to each one of my data stores?

or do I only store golden image on my NAS or local datastore then when you create the instant clone you choose every data store accessible to the cluster?

please advise
