How to get IP and/or hostname of computer from which user is connected to his desktop using View 4.5
Is this even possible and does view server stores this information ?
Best regards, Najtssob
This information is stored in the Virtual Desktop registry. For more information, check out this page: Using Client Information in VMware View.

Connection server application event logs should also have this information about session. You will need to query the events.
We use a free product called BGInfo. This is from the Sysinternals team at Microsoft and just simply displays pertinent system info on the Windows desktop background. Here is the link:

So there is no central storage for this informations on view server ?I thought that IP of a client would be in view's ADAM.
I believe you should be able to find what you are looking for in the registry under: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Volatile Environment.
This has all the info you should need, if I am understanding your question correctly. Hope this is useful.
I know how to get this info from register. I just wanted to know if this information are also stored somwhere else(like ADAM db on view server).
So you can only get IP of the client from registry of VM. And there is no souch information in ADAM on view server ?
Correct
