Let's say you allowed your users to connect to two pools.
Pool #1 and Pool #2 (backup).
How do you find out if you're already connected to pool #2 so you don't have to create a duplicate session on Pool #1 using the View Client?
With the Zero Client, we were able to tell by looking at the login status if you want to "reconnect" to the old session (Pool #2) or "connect/create" a new session on Pool #1.
Is there a trick to make the View Client on Windows/MAC to behave like the View Client on the Zero Client?
I would love to know how.
I was about to open a support ticket but think of asking the other experts in here first.
Thank you all.
im not too clear on what your question is, however if im understanding correctly if your user is entitled to 2 pools, you want the user to be able to identify if they have are disconnected or logged into a pool or not.
i dont know of a way to identify that on the view client however, you might want to set your pool to log the user off after 60 minutes after a disconnect or something like that. that way users arent logged in if they arent using it.
are you using pool 2 as failover only?
Yes, I did that already on the second pool. I set it to log them off automatically after an hour.
This is the picture to show the difference between the View Client and Zero Client connection status.
View Client.
Zero Client
As you can see, with the View Client, you unable to know the status which Pool were you connected to before whereas with the Zero Client, you know you were connected to Pool (Server #2) so that's the pool you want to pick to get back to your desktop.
That small information will go a long way.
Hope that clear things up and I appreciate the feedback. ![]()
