How to check the status of DesktopVM from View pool using PowerCLI?

Hi,

I am creating a script wherein i need to check the status of each desktop vm in the available pool. Can anybody help? Went through the thread http://communities.vmware.com/thread/315767 but couldnt find any help...

Thanks in advance,

I'm looking for this as well.  I want to script pool refreshes at certain times of the day, but only want it to happen for desktops that are not currently in use.

The only 'state' info I've found is in the session object.  The 'localstate' property of the desktop is always blank for me.

I suppose you could tie the session object to the desktop via the dns name, but that might be problematic.

Is your problem solved? i have met with the same problem as you while  i'm using Get-DesktopVM in View 5 Connection Server. Searching in  google, and see a KB article that is exactly for this problem : http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=200924... . Hope that will help.

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else

HI Amanda,

I'm not getting an error.  The information I'm looking for isn't available, or at least I can't find it.  I'll let the OP speak for himself, but I'm looking for something along the lines of the status you see in the pool inventory tab, i.e. "Available", "Provisioned', "Connected", "Disconnected", "Start up", "Customizing", or "Agent Unreachable".
