How to change ssl port on view security server

Hi all,

in my lab environment I need to change the listening port of the security server from 443, this is because that port is already used on my unique public ip address.

The version of view is 4.6 on a 2008 R2 Server.

Any idea?

I could not find any documentatin regarding my scenario.

Please help Smiley Sad

Hi

I just read this today in my training materials i am revising.

On your security server there is a file c:\program files\vmware\vmware view\server\sslgateway\conf\config.properties and you can edit that file, you will see a line that says clientPort=443 change that to something else.

Also you should be able to do it on the administrator page select the security server, select edit and where it says External URL make sure that after the colon in the URL has the new port (this basically just modifies the above file for you).

Remember anyone connecting through that server will need to tell their client to use the new port.

The above is for view 4.5 but should still work

Cheers

How about changing it in the locked.properites file?

We run the Security Gateway on a different port to the standard 443 on View 5.0 and also did so on 4.6 with no issues.

  1. In the View Manager for your Security Server specify the HTTPS External URL in the form:
    https://subdomain.domain.tld:port

  2. Duplicte the above setting in the settings for your paired Connection Server.

No need to manually edit the locked.properties file although this would likely have the same effect as step 1.

Hi,

I tried to configure so but I still have the listening port on the 443.

What do you think?

Just to make sure, when you make the changes are you restarting the web services on the security server?

Cheers
