Host unreachable or Agent is disabled After Vmtool installation/reboot

I recently updated my ESXi environment from 7.0.2u2 to 7.0.3ug and then updated VMtools on my VMs as well.  Rebooted the VM's and this morning I saw 20 out of about 60 VMs that I updated where the Horizon agent was reporting "Host unreachable or Agent is disabled"

Has anyone else seen this with installing VMtools?

Also is there anyway to get the agent to talk to the server without rebooting the VM?

I've tried restarting all VMware services in various orders and nothing seems to get the two to talk.

What is the Horizon desktop pool type? Manual or Automatic?

Hi @adamabel, Typically you would uninstall the DEM/AVM and Horizon agents and then perform the VMtools upgrade. Then reinstall the agents. VMtools will overwrite some the drivers that the Horizon agent installs.

There is an order to this and I would go as far as removing Vmtools as well. Also make sure the version of Horizon you are using works with that version of VMtools
