Horizon view maintenance mode.

Hi there,

Sorry but I am not a VMWare person, we install monitoring and reporting tools such as Splunk. My customer uses a managed VMWare Horizon View Windows 7 VDI solution and I've been asked to report on when the VDIs are placed into maintenance mode. I wonder if anyone can tell me if there's amnything I can look out for on the VDI itself so I can determine it is in maintenance mode? I know it puts some entires in the HKCU...Volatile Environment registry are for some things but not sure about maint. mode. Or it might drop or change a particular network connection or trigger some sort of windows event.

Any advise greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

So it doesn't seem so... What about this; is there any change at all tot he gust machine when it is in maintenance mode? A drop in a particular tcp connection for example, or a command that I can run on the guest that will return a different message if it's in maintenance mode than if it is not?

If there's nothing at all that can be determined from the guest then what are my options? Can I make an api call to one of the VMWare appliances to get what I need? Can I receive a syslog message or an snmp trap? If so can these be easily separated out in a multi tenanted environment so that the hosting partner can easily just let me get this information via an api call or just receive this information via the log message or trap?

Thanks.
